Acrylic Painted Tray
I made this for Addie's second birthday in 2003. I bought the unfinished tray and unpainted wooden flower from Michaels. I painted the tray with 2 or 3 layers of periwinkle acrylic paint, allowing each coat to dry before applying the next coat. I painted the wooden flower and freehand painted the leaves onto the tray then glued the flower on top of the leaves after everything was dry. I added a few dots for embellishment. For her name, I printed it out then used transfer paper to trace the letters onto the wood, then painted them in. After all the paint was dry, I sprayed it with Krylon acrylic sealer. It took me about 3 days to finish it, although it could have been finished in 1 day.
