Another one of my creative spaces

Sitting in front of the computer, with...yes...3 screens. Well, typically, the laptop isn't open, but I love having 2 monitors! I'm so thankful that I have a geeky husband. I get lots of goodies.
See that green towel under the window? It's for my cat...but she likes that space between my keyboard and chair better, right over my arms. I'll post a picture of that, too.
In this picture, my big monitor has my email, the middle one - my blog, and the laptop, Phin's blog. To the left of the big monitor is my scanner, on top of the scanner is my art journal from Shiloh McCloud, misc collage elements and a newspaper article on my sister-in-law's trip to Jasper, TX to help with the Red Cross during Hurricane Rita. Under the desk are containers of photographs, and tons of paper - cardstock and decorative. In the white wire baskets are pens, adhesives and more paper. Recycling is to the far right. Photo paper on top of my computer. To the right of the computer is my fabulous wide-format color printer.

A creative space is never a tidy space.

I totally agree! At least around here anyhow.

I love to see "real" workspaces like yours. Tell me more about the printer. I'm getting a new one. Right now I'm thinking Epson because of the archival inks, but I want a wide-format, too. What kind is yours? Are you happy with it?

Thanks for showing us your spaces! (and your adorable cat!)

I love my printer!! It's pretty old, going on 6 or 7 years, but it still works great and I'm still extremely happy with it. Jimmy and I work it like a mule, so to speak. At Christmas time alone, we print out 13 calendars with 13 pages each, each page 11x17, full color. Then I print out a lot of my photos for scrapbooking and/or collage art. Its print capacity is 13" wide and any length, so its ideal for my 12x12 scrapbook pages.

It's a Epson Stylus Photo 1200, which isn't available anymore. The newer generations are 1280, R1800, and R2400. Go with the R1800 or R2400 for archival inks.

My cat happens to be laying on my arms right now. :)

Thank's so much. I'm copying it down to remember it. I just did my first collage and posted it this afternoon. It's a little far out, but I guess that's me.

I agree that having a tech-geeky partner is great! My husband is my live in tech support and yes, I end up with goodies I'd probably not be able to figure out on my own.

LOL! I will have to post a picture of my creative spaces!! We have a lot in common I think, in that respect, except I have more clutter. At one point I had 5 monitors going at once. I probably would now, but some of them are having issues.

LOL! :-) :-D

I'm late in comparison to everyone else, but I just hopped over here from Cate's blog. And what you said: "A creative space is never a tidy space." made me feel good. I have felt a bit concerned about my organized mess around my computer after watching those HGTV shows and seeing people's desks with barely anything going on on them. But you are right. A creative area is never a tidy area :)
