Motel AMC

I tried to go to a movie today. I went to see "In The Land Of Women" and from what I could hear, it was good. There were 3 of us in the theater. The couple sat in the very back and chatted thru the previews. A lot of people talk thru the previews, so I didn't mind. There's only been one other time when I was annoyed by chatters during a movie because most of the time, people are considerate. They also came to watch a movie, so they're paying attention.

Most of the time.

Not today.

When the movie started, they chatted a little, but were also making out occasionally, so I'd get breaks where they weren't talking. Then her phone rang. She carried on a 15 minute conversation, obviously upset because her voice kept getting louder and louder. Finally, she hung up, but now she had to tell her boyfriend all about it.

Thru all of this, I'm thinking, "You guys just paid $8.25 each to Not Watch A Movie. What the...heck."

After a little bit, they were "quiet" again, till she got another phone call. This one didn't last as long, because she was anxious to get back to what she was doing. And then, the making out...went to that place where you really don't wanna hear.

Then I realized that $16.50 is a lot cheaper than a motel.

You should have walked out and requested, no demanded your money back.

I know. I would have. Or should have.

But despite all that was happening in the back of the theater, I was really enjoying the movie!

I really want to see that movie.

My kids say I embarass them in movies because I turn around and ask people to be quiet...or I go get the manager if they're horrible. I believe you have to take a stand or rude people will take over the theaters.

That's one of my pet peeves...people who have no respect for other people in the movies.

Oh my goodness, that would irritate the heck out of me as well. I too would of said something either to them or the management. I have to admit tho i have not been to a theater in more than 20 yrs, i have always found them to be either too hot or too cold and uncomfortable.
Cell phones have there places as well, turn the things off, i hate it when your at a restaurant and the cells go off.
Thanks as well for telling me about the photos on my blog i put them on again, not sure what happend there.

reminds me of a woman my brother dated who talked through an entire movie: end of relationship.

Arrgh! I hate that, too, Mad. I probably would have said something and if things didn't get better, gone to management and asked for them to interceed AND give me my money back to go see it again. What are people thinking???

It's a movie I want to see as well. I saw Spiderman yesterday and HIGHLY recommend it. A wonderful moral about choices we make and forgiveness.
