Hawk on the Block: Where'd he come from? And other randomness.

This may have been the longest I've gone without posting, aside from vacations. After our busy June and July, I suddenly found myself with copious amounts of time on my hands and very little to write about. I did get a lot of errands checked off my to-do list, visited friends, shuffled some papers for the business, did a ton of scrapbooking and pined for my nieces and nephews - I miss those kids.

We're celebrating a lot of birthdays this month. The third was my oldest sister-in-law's, then my oldest niece turned 23 on the ninth. Today would have been my dad's 103rd birthday. Tomorrow is my best friend's birthday. Tuesday is Jimmy's. Friday is his buddy's from high school. I'm probably missing someone.

The hawk in the photo was in our yard yesterday. We've never seen a bird of prey in our yard before. Wonder what he was after?

I've been feeling the same way too! Nothing much to blog about these days.

We have red winged hawks here and they get the field mice, doves that seem to be brainless and sadly, kittens. Owls take the same. This one was probably looking for dessert!

Happy multi-birthdays to all your friends and rellies!
Thats a nice hawk pic. A large hawk caught a bird in my back yard last week, I saw it swoop down out of the corner of my eye, and then I saw it plucking feathers high up in the pine tree, but by the time I reached for the binoculars it was gone.
