I.am.lame.

So.
A little over a week ago, I started having jaw pain. It felt like someone sucker punched me on the right side of my face below my ear. I hoped it would go away but when it started to spread through my whole mouth and made talking and eating uncomfortable, I finally decided to see the dentist.
I was diagnosed with having temporomandibular joint (TMJ) pain. To relieve the pain I have to wear an oral splint at night and when I feel discomfort. The problem is often caused by tension.

Tension from concentrating on playing Rock Band too much and holding my jaw in an awkward position. True story.

You've gotta be kidding! Rock Band wiped your jaw out??? Ewww I didn't know it could do that! You better quit the band before you have to start taking drugs.

No one said being a rock star was easy. . . .

Here's hoping you feel much, much better, that sounds painful.

Ohhhhhh. I'm so sorry, Mad. We learned about TMJ in massage school. It IS caused by tension and often means grinding teeth at night! Donica said I was grinding my teeth the other night. Uh-oh! Buying a sports mouthpiece to wear at night can often solve the problem, at least short term. Sorry you have it but glad you figured it out. Even a change in weather can cause stress!!

Hmmm a conspiracy by the Brewers... They just happened to have an "extra" rock band... Hope you feel better soon.
