Halloween in Seattle

It's much colder in Seattle than in California, lemme tell ya. But that's not news to anyone. I'm glad I decided to take my winter jacket. And by winter jacket, I mean California Winter Jacket: ie: I was still really cold. But freezing my butt off was totally worth it because I got to spend Halloween with my cousin and her son and experience his first Halloween as a toddler. It was flippin' awesome. He was so adorable in his turtle costume and even won 2nd prize for best costume at his daddy's work. Here's a little collage of my quick visit:
The first 2 pics are at a beach by Puget Sound. There are tidepools here, but it was high tide so we enjoyed the scenery and walked along the shore a bit. The next 3 are at a Monastery along the shores of Lake Washington. Fall in Washington is an awesome experience! My cousin said it had already peaked a couple weeks before but it was more impressive than anything I've ever experienced. (Interesting how my hair matches the orange trees, isn't it?) The next 3 are my cute little nephew Turtle out trick or treating! So sweet. And the last photo is flying back home and a view of downtown San Jose where it was a warm 74 degrees when I arrived.

Reminiscing

It's hard to believe that it's already Thursday and I've been home for 3 days. My visit was waay too short and I wish I was able to spend more time with my cousin. I had a great time with her, every moment was cherished! The above view of Seattle was taken from Beacon Hill.

Moi, enjoying the tulips.

Happy Easter!

Celebrated a great Easter day in Skagit County enjoying the tulips with my cousin and her family. A beautiful day surrounded by oh so many colorful flowers! Forecasts predicted rain, but as you can see in the pic, we avoided it, hurray! It's raining now, but we're safely tucked in our room, relaxing for the rest of our evening.

Hope you all had or are having a wonderful Easter day, too.

In 8 hours

Jimmy and I will be leaving for Washington for a much anticipated weekend with my dearest cousin. I haven't seen her in 8 months and it's going to be so much fun!

I should start packing. Laundry still needs to be done. Gifts still need to be wrapped. Cards need to be made. Emails need to be sent. Dishes need to be done and miscellaneous putting stuff away must happen. But instead I'm playing around in photoshop with some new brushes I downloaded from Designfruit and blogging. Have I mentioned already that I'm the queen of procrastination?

Butterflies

At the Woodland Park Zoo. It was a cold afternoon, never got above 65 degrees, so the butterflies in the exhibit were conserving their energy and heat by staying very still. The few that were close to the pathway gave us a great opportunity to take closeups of them without worry of them flying away, but most of them hunkered down far, far away from the path.

Where would I lay my eggs?

I never did read the next sign (click on image to enlarge) so I have no idea where.
Sigh.

home

It's good to be home and with my husband, but I wish we didn't live so far away from my cousin and her newest little one. The baby was so very precious and just giggled and giggled with me. Melted my heart and broke it at the same time.
I had an amazing time with them. Thanks, V! I love you. Posted by Picasa

Who said it always rains in Seattle?

Having a great time in Seattle, I'm here till Wednesday evening.

The flight over was easy, simple, breezy...if you may. I had to check a bag, which is unusual for me because I travel very light. But since I had to check my bag (toothpaste, ya know?) I decided to take my laptop. Weeee!! Which, some might think is excessive, but I need to be plugged in. I'm even bringing my laptop to Hawaii, the condo we're staying at has hi-speed DSL, so there. Did a few Su Doku puzzles (thanks Danielle!) and next thing I knew, we were touching down in Seattle.

It's been warm here! 89-90 degrees at the space needle yesterday. At home it was in the mid-70s, my preferred temperature. It'll probably start cooling off here on Wednesday and warming up at home, just in time for my arrival.

Spent today hangin' with my peps. (Phin, I went to Rubber Soul). Walked along Lake Washington a bit and had lunch in Kirkland - the home of Costco.

Missin' the husband a lot. Next time, James, you come along. :)

Seattle

I'm off bright and early tomorrow morning to visit one of my favorite persons and family.
Can't wait! Looking forward to being in another awesome city, too.
